Xbox Unveils Pocket‑Sized Nano Controller With Built‑In Battery and Free Game Pass Trial

Microsoft has announced the Xbox Nano controller, a new pocket‑sized device that will ship in early November; Pure Xbox reports a release date of November 4 and a price of $49.99, while Kotaku lists a price of $50.

The compact controller measures just over 5 inches long and weighs 3.5 ounces, making it lighter than most modern smartphones. It contains a built‑in rechargeable battery instead of AA batteries, and includes a programmable Action Button for screenshots or gameplay capture. The controller supports Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth and retains all 18 standard inputs.

The Nano comes with a two‑month Game Pass Ultimate subscription for new members when purchased with select Samsung TVs or a Meta Quest headset. Pre‑orders are open through the Microsoft Store, and the controller will be available in a wide range of markets, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and many others.

GamesRadar+ noted that the Nano is far from the pro‑pad style many had expected, emphasizing its affordability and portability instead.
