Xbox today announced the Nano Controller, a compact alternative to its standard Wireless Controller. The new controller is priced at $49.99 (£44.99) and will ship on November 4. Pre‑orders are available now on the Microsoft Store.
Features and Connectivity The Nano Controller measures 5 inches long and weighs 3.5 ounces, compared to the 6‑inch, 10‑ounce standard model. It includes a rechargeable battery, so players no longer need AA cells or a separate battery pack. The controller can connect via Xbox Wireless or Bluetooth, allowing use on PCs, mobile phones and smart TVs.
Like the standard controller, it has all the usual buttons and a programmable Action Button that can be set to take screenshots or record gameplay. Leaks from the Xbox Design Lab hint that a future Elite Series 3 might offer advanced haptics and a customizable scroll wheel, but no official announcement has been made.
