The Witcher 3 Remastered version 5.0.1 is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide, according to CD Projekt Red. The update rolls out across all regions, giving Switch 2 players the same fixes that were released two weeks earlier on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Players can download the patch directly from the Nintendo eShop. The release also confirms that the Switch 1 version still receives the free upgrade to the remastered edition.

Gameplay Fixes

The patch includes a series of gameplay fixes that address bugs in combat and movement. It corrects a glitch where the “Automatically Apply Blade Oils” option would only work if enabled during the current session, and it stops player‑controlled boats from moving uncontrollably on certain terrain. Ladder animation is smoother, and Geralt no longer collides with dead enemies after using the Aard finisher. Additional fixes remove a delayed response when dodging, prevent bombs from being thrown when the option is disabled, and correct the bonus value shown for the Synergy skill. The patch also adds damage reflection to the Exploding Shield skill and stops Geralt’s stamina from draining completely when sprinting and dodging at the same time.

Visual improvements focus on lighting and depth of field. The update refines bloom, tone mapping, character lighting, ray tracing and path tracing, making environments more vibrant. New graphics options – Bloom, Light Shafts, and Depth of Field – let players tailor the look to their preference. Performance optimisations reduce load times and eliminate visual artifacts caused by Dynamic Resolution Scaling. The patch also extends a previous fix that made voiceover audio noticeably quieter after navigating pause‑menu tabs to consoles.

Nintendo Switch 2‑specific changes enhance image sharpness and resolution, addressing the blurry visuals reported in handheld mode. A rare crash that could happen when changing between in‑game regions has been fixed, and cache handling for Cross‑Platform Mod Support is now optimised. The patch corrects an issue where HD Rumble was only felt in the left Joy‑Con 2 when climbing a ladder, and where map pins could appear on the black bars surrounding the map. The policy consent screen will reappear due to backend issues, prompting players to confirm preferences again. Duplicate items may appear in the My Rewards and Twitch/Bilibili Drops chest after the fix, and foliage will now react to collisions. Ukrainian text localisation has been added to all regions.

Other adjustments include a fix for missing rewards in Vizima, improved save‑file safety, and optimisation of cross‑platform mod support. The Japanese version of the game will receive the update after certification, while the English, German, French and other language versions are already available. The patch demonstrates CD Projekt Red’s commitment to keeping the remastered title polished across platforms.
