T'Nia Miller and Mary McDonnell first appeared together on Netflix’s 2023 horror miniseries “The Fall of the House of Usher,” created by Mike Flanagan. Miller played the paranoid scientist Victorine LaFourcade, while McDonnell was the company COO Madeline Usher.

Reunited in a new series

In the new Marvel Cinematic Universe series VisionQuest, the two actresses have reunited. Miller now portrays Jocasta, a synthetic being built from the mind of dead neuroscientist Dr. Josephine Carrington. McDonnell plays Katerina Wells, a tech CEO who stole Carrington’s work on sentient AI companions.

Episode four shows Jocasta hunting down Katerina for the theft of Carrington’s work. The scene highlights the tension between the characters, as Jocasta pursues the CEO.

Both actors have spoken about the reunion. Miller said, “He just says, ‘I’ve got a character for you!’ He wrote those characters for each of our personalities,” in an interview with Radio Times. McDonnell added, “It didn’t feel like we were shooting horror. It felt as true to me as any story I’ve ever participated in,” in an interview with Awards Buzz. Their roles in VisionQuest echo the corporate dynamics seen in The Fall of the House of Usher, as noted by the article.
