Villion: Code, the action‑RPG from Compile Heart and Idea Factory, is set to launch in the West on January 26, 2027. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Physical copies will ship to North America for PS5, PS4 and Switch, and to Europe for PS5 only. A Digital Deluxe Edition, which bundles the game, a 124‑page digital art book, and a 27‑track soundtrack, will also be released. The game had its Japanese launch on June 25, 2026.

Release details

Pre‑orders for the physical Standard Editions are already open. In North America, Standard Editions for PS4, PS5 and Switch feature a reversible cover sleeve with alternative art by Ilya Kuvshinov and an exclusive IFI trading card, while in Europe the PS5 Standard Edition follows the same design. Digital Standard and Deluxe Editions will be available for wish‑listing later. These editions mirror the content of the physical releases, including the digital art book and soundtrack included with the Deluxe bundle.

The story follows students trapped in the Adhvan Resilience School after the city is sealed by a mysterious bubble and besieged by monsters called GEMs. Players explore the Sankhara Space‑Time Oddity, a 360‑degree tube‑shaped dungeon that randomly generates levels and draws inspiration from Buddhist concepts. Combat uses real‑time action with Genome Arms that switch between melee and ranged styles, while players craft Genome Cubes from gathered Ampules and enhance them with EX Factors to gain new abilities.

Producer Kouji “Cozy” Okada reunites with scenario writer Tadashi Satomi, known for his Persona work, and composer Tsukasa Masuko, who has scored many Megami Tensei titles. Character design is handled by Ilya Kuvshinov, whose bright visuals contrast with the game’s heavy themes of human burden and genome editing. Okada describes the game as a message that “there is no wall that cannot be climbed,” and the narrative encourages players to reflect on their own responsibilities while confronting the city’s dangers.
