Vessla, a Stockholm‑based AI startup, has emerged from stealth with a $3.3 million pre‑seed funding round led by Seedcamp, according to the company’s announcement. The round was more than twice oversubscribed, showing strong investor interest. The funding is intended to help the startup scale its agentic operating system and deepen its presence in the property‑management market.
Investors in the round included Inception Fund, Tiny VC, operators from Lovable and OpenAI, as well as founders Lukas Saari of Tandem Health and Fredrik Hjelm of Voi and Pit. A number of angel investors also joined the funding. The mix of institutional and individual backers reflects confidence in Vessla’s approach to automation in real‑estate operations.
Vessla builds a system of AI agents that work alongside the many software tools property owners and managers already use. The agents pull relevant data from those tools, apply a company’s operating rules, and execute workflows automatically. Human staff retain oversight for decisions that require judgment or approval, ensuring that the system supports rather than replaces people.
How the Platform Works
A single maintenance request in many portfolios can involve checking property records, contacting suppliers, updating work orders, and handling invoices across disparate systems. Vessla’s agents would handle these steps automatically, freeing staff to focus on higher‑value tasks. The startup’s goal is to reduce manual effort and improve consistency across portfolios.
The founding team brings deep experience in enterprise AI deployments. Janehag, for example, contributed to the Mars 2020 mission, and other members have worked at McKinsey and QuantumBlack. The team is already collaborating with some of the Nordics’ largest property owners and operators, giving Vessla early market traction.
Who’s Behind the Tech
Looking ahead, Vessla plans to expand its platform to cover leasing, building operations, and investment planning across entire property portfolios. The company aims to use AI to identify opportunities to grow rental income, reduce operating costs, and coordinate work more efficiently.
