Finji has announced that the game Usual June will launch on January 20, 2027. The third-person action adventure comes to PC via Steam. The release date was previously scheduled for October 28 this year. The team confirmed the delay alongside a new gameplay trailer.
Developer Finji wants more time to prepare the game before launch. They plan to refine the launch builds and present their collaborators work at its best. The announcement included a new gameplay trailer shown during Cozy After Dark.
Co-founders Adam and Bekah Saltsman joked that they could blame the change on GTA 6. However, they said the team simply wants more time to prepare. They stated a desire to show the hard work from all collaborators in the best light possible.
Usual June is a supernatural third-person action adventure game where players fight monsters and talk to ghosts. Players get to dive into arenas with fast, fluid, and expressive combat. The goal is getting to the bottom of a mystery threatening to obliterate an entire city.
Players explore unique locations such as secret labs, buried tunnels, and haunted observatories. There are also abandoned train stations and a mysterious alternate setting within the world. The city of Fen Harbor serves as the main setting for the story.

Combat features fast arena encounters with abilities like dashing, dodging, and parrying. Players must adapt to enemies by equipping items and customizing their loadout. They can use super moves while changing their fighting style to suit the fight.
As players gain XP and level up, they gain access to new powers. These abilities come with a cost that players must discover by themselves. Finji leaves the specific consequences for players to learn on their own during gameplay.
You will speak with 25 characters to investigate Fen Harbor and find out what is happening. Neither the living nor the dead can save this city on their own. The dead contribute photographic memories while the living interact physically with objects.
Creative Director Adam Saltsman leads development of the project at Finji. He has previous experience from games like Overland and Canabalt. The team also includes writers David Pinckney and Cara Ellison along with audio director Adam Hay.
Writer Cara Ellison is a BAFTA winning writer known for Ghost Town. Audio director Adam Hay is also a BAFTA winner for his work on Dreams. These credits highlight the experienced talent behind the development team.
