Trellix announced Trellix Wise for Private Cloud on October 13, 2026. This solution enables enterprises to run its artificial intelligence engine for security operations entirely inside their own environments. The product builds on features first appearing in May 2024 as investigation capabilities within the company's extended detection platform.
Trellix says large organizations have held back from using AI agents due to tradeoffs rather than technology resistance. Chief information security officer David Soto noted that customers worry about sending sensitive telemetry to a public cloud and absorbing unpredictable token costs. He added that teams also face a lack of visibility into how the AI makes decisions.
The new release operates fully inside the customer's environment where data remains within the security boundary. It deploys across on-premises, air-gapped, hybrid, and private cloud systems without sending information to a public large language model. This design supports organizations with strict regulatory requirements where cloud dependency can be disqualifying.

Customers are not billed by the token for this release, as predictable pricing replaces consumption-based models. Trellix stated this allows organizations to scale AI adoption without escalating costs. The approach aims to remove barriers that have slowed enterprise adoption of agentic security tools.
Every outcome from the private cloud edition comes with a confidence level and is explained in plain language. These details allow for auditing the AI outcomes to support governance purposes. Analysts gain transparency and full visibility into how conclusions are reached during threat investigations.
Research firm Vanson Bourne Ltd polled 600 chief information security officers on insider risk for this study. Respondents said AI-driven or autonomous systems were behind 28% of the insider incidents they dealt with over the past year. The average organization took seven hours to spot an incident and responded eight more hours later.
Vishal Rao, Trellix chief executive officer, said the threat landscape has shifted where AI is now commercializing attacks. He stated the company strategy is to meet AI-powered threats with AI-powered defense. According to the latest Mind of the CISO research, 41% of organizations plan to prioritize detection and response for AI risks in the next 12 to 24 months.
