Toyota Racing’s TR010s were untouchable in the first ever 6 Hours of Barcelona, securing the brand’s eighth FIA WEC Manufacturers’ World Championship with a 1‑2 finish. The Japanese brand’s Hypercars dominated through wet, drying and fully dry conditions, giving the #8 drivers—Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa—a second consecutive victory and third of the season. Their teammates in the #7—Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries and Mike Conway—stayed close, but never challenged the #8 after taking the lead on the opening lap in the rain.

The race began with a dramatic start that saw the No. 19 Genesis GMR‑001 briefly lead before slipping off the track at Turn 5, allowing Buemi to take the lead and maintain it through two safety‑car periods. Despite a five‑second penalty for a start‑procedure infringement, the No. 8 Toyota stayed ahead and eventually pulled clear of the sister No. 7 car, finishing 0.583 seconds ahead in a photo finish. The 1‑2 also sealed the manufacturers’ title, leaving BMW and Ferrari unable to overtake Toyota in the standings.

Ferrari’s AF Corpse #50 499P finished third after a steady performance, but could not mount a challenge even after the final restart. Genesis’s GMR‑001s suffered multiple off‑track incidents and penalties, finishing 11th and 16th. BMW’s WRT team saw its No. 15 car finish seventh after a safety‑car stoppage, and the No. 20 crew was forced to pit early due to low tyre pressure, losing valuable time.

The LMGT3 class was won by the #92 Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo, with Yasser Shahin, Riccardo Pera and Richard Lietz taking the first win of the season and the first top‑10 finish since Interlagos. The trio’s dominant run broke the record for most different winners in a single WEC GT class, becoming the seventh crew in seven races to win LMGT3.

With the manufacturers’ title secured, the No. 8 crew now heads into the season finale at Monza with a 17‑point advantage in the Hypercar Drivers’ World Championship, while the battle for the last podium spot remains open. Toyota’s eighth title marks the brand’s eighth win in fourteen seasons, underscoring its continued dominance in endurance racing.
