Tenebris Somnia launched digitally on October 16 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. It was created by Andrés Borghi and Tobías Rusjan with the Argentine studio Saibot Studios and published by New Blood Interactive. The title is a 2‑D adventure that blends 8‑ and 16‑bit aesthetics with a gothic horror atmosphere, and it has received early positive reviews.

Story and Gameplay

The game follows Julia, a young woman who visits the apartment of an ex‑boyfriend and is thrust into a nightmarish parallel universe. Players navigate this world by solving puzzles, fighting bizarre creatures and managing limited resources. A distinctive feature is the live‑action FMV cutscenes, which appear unpredictably and are tightly integrated into gameplay to keep players on edge.

Production of Tenebris Somnia took nearly four years in Buenos Aires. The film crew used professional cameras, practical monster effects, and prosthetic masks, with Argentine scream queen Clara Kovacic portraying Julia. Scenes were shot in a 17th‑century cathedral set and even guerrilla‑filmed on a subway at night, all without the use of generative AI.
