Bandai Namco released a new gameplay trailer for Tekken 8 introducing the upcoming downloadable content. The footage focuses on the character Roger Jr and his gameplay mechanics before the official launch. This announcement confirms details about the release window for the fighting game franchise's latest installment.
Reports on when players can access the character differ in their specific dates. One report states early access begins November 12 with full release on November 17. Another report lists November 11 for Season 3 Character Pass owners and November 16 for all users.
The trailer highlights the character as a boxing kangaroo performing acrobatics in battle. His moveset includes stomp moves and other actions described as eclectic by observers. Some players note he looks like fun to play in the game based on the video clips.
A major highlight of the trailer is the reveal of Yujiro Hanma from Baki the Grappler. This marks the first official look at the upcoming crossover event featuring the anime character. He appears as an in-game character during the end of the video footage.
Yujiro is scheduled to join the roster later this Winter according to current plans. He is designated as the final downloadable content character for Season 3. Fans can expect a new trailer to premiere at a future event.
Details about the Baki character will be shared at the Tekken World Tour Finals. One source specifies the date as January 17, 2027 for this reveal. Others note simply that more information arrives at this same tournament later in the year.
The current Season 3 has already included characters like Kunimitsu and Bob in previous updates. Discussion continues regarding what might follow in Season 4 of the game. This new character fits into the ongoing Iron Fist Tournament story within the franchise.
Tekken 8 is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for players to download. It remains the latest installment in Bandai Namco’s fighting game franchise series. Players choose fighters for the Mishima family saga battle.
