Swiss startup Namespace gathers fresh cash to help programmers and artificial intelligence build software faster

A young firm based in Zurich has taken in new money to grow its data centers and speed up technical work for coding teams.

A firm named Namespace has collected 42 million dollars, or 37 million euros, in a Series B investment round. The company started in Zurich, Switzerland, and sells tools that help people write and check computer software.

This new cash arrives quickly. The team finished its earlier Series A funding round only seven months ago.

Hugo Santos started the enterprise in 2022. Before launching the venture, Santos held a role as a principal engineer at Google.

The startup provides ready-made computer systems for writing, building, and checking software. It supports work across Linux, Windows, and Mac machines.

Engineering teams use the platform so they can finish projects more quickly without having to look after physical servers or complex computer setups on their own.

The business is focusing on automated artificial intelligence coding agents. These programs write instructions automatically and need places to check if their work functions properly.

Because artificial intelligence agents now generate code at higher speeds, the firm wants to supply the underlying machinery that lets both people and bots compile and test that work rapidly.

Scale Venture Partners guided this financing effort as the lead backer. Other investment funds joined, including NEA, 20VC, Essence, and Burst Capital.

Individual supporters also put money into the round. One of these angel backers is Olivier Pomel, who leads the software company Datadog as its chief executive officer.

Namespace plans to spend the incoming money to hasten work on its products. It will also widen its own computer stack, expanding server setups and data centers.

Santos explained that his time at Google showed him the benefit of strong internal tools. He observed that few outside businesses offer their staff that kind of technical setup.

His goal is to make high-grade systems the normal standard for active companies, centering on continuous integration, which is the regular automated combining and checking of shared code.

Several tech firms currently rely on the Swiss company for their workflows. These clients include SpaceXAI, Ramp, ElevenLabs, Framer, and Vanta.
