Subaru is adding a new entry‑level 2027 Outback that cuts the starting price by nearly $2,000. The new Base trim begins at $32,995 MSRP, which comes to $34,540 with the $1,545 destination fee. The move follows a 10% drop in Outback sales year‑over‑year.

Sales numbers show a dip for the Outback

Sales figures show the Forester and Crosstrek are performing well, but the Outback is down 10% after nine months. Subaru delivered 52,056 vehicles in September and has sold 475,878 cars in the first nine months, a 1.5% decline versus last year.

Other trims see price cuts. The Limited drops to $39,995 MSRP, the Touring to $43,495, the Limited XT to $43,595, the Touring XT to $46,595, and the Wilderness to $43,995, all lower than the 2026 prices. Bundle options such as rain‑sensing wipers and navigation are now $2,045, down $225, and the moonroof‑navigation‑surround‑view package is $1,995, down $50.

The base trim comes standard with a 12.1‑inch multimedia system, a 12.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, EyeSight driver‑assist, heated front seats, and 8.7 inches of ground clearance. New colors include Daybreak Blue Pearl, Snowfall White Silica and Sand Dune Pearl, and the Limited XT adds Highway Hands‑Free Driving Assist.

The 2027 Outback will be available at Subaru dealers nationwide by the end of the year.
