A Microsoft Store page for an unannounced Shrek 2 Remastered went live on October 16, before any official announcement. The listing, which has since been removed, showed Aspyr as developer and publisher and described a 4K rebuild of the 2004 tie‑in game. It listed up to four‑player co‑op playable on the couch, online or a mix of both, and added a new Photo Mode and a Cheat Mode. No release date or price appeared on the page.

The remaster first appeared in September during a large‑scale Steam achievements leak, before the platform was known. The original Shrek 2 game, released by Activision in 2004, let players control characters such as Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots as they progressed from the swamp to Far Far Away. Aspyr has handled several recent remasters and has a habit of pushing them to current platforms.

Some observers expect an official reveal at the ID@Xbox Showcase on October 20, where a Shrek cameo appeared in the event’s teaser trailer. That expectation is based on the timing of the leak and the teaser, but neither Aspyr nor Xbox has confirmed a launch date or price.

Although the listing was taken down quickly, the details it contained have already spread online. The game remains unannounced, with no statement from either Aspyr or Microsoft about when it will be released or on which platforms beyond Xbox. Fans can only wait for an official announcement.
