Seres Group signed a long-term strategic agreement with CATL on October 10, 2026. The pact secures battery supply from CATL for every AITO model in its line-up. This deal was concluded in Chongqing to strengthen their partnership.
AITO is the premium brand Seres develops together with Huawei. Deliveries of the vehicles have now passed 1.2 million since the launch. The new arrangement extends that existing supply across the full range.
Production expansion is a key part of the plan for the Seres Super Factory. Partners will fast-track phase two of their plant-in-plant facility there. This adds capacity inside the vehicle manufacturing site.
Automotive World reports an addition of 10 to 12 GW/h a year for a combined total above 20 GW/h. Electrive says production capacity will increase to more than 20 GWh per year. This difference in units appears across the two reports on the same plan.

Building batteries inside the vehicle plant aims to sharpen cost competitiveness. The expansion also supports Chongqing’s drive to build a cluster of intelligent connected electric vehicle makers. Supply certainty is given to Seres through this setup.
Beyond production, companies plan supercharging networks and battery services. These efforts will follow a car through its whole life cycle. Joint work on these services is included in the agreement.
The partners also seek buyers together in new regions outside China. Targets include the Middle East and Central Asia for growth options. European markets are also part of their search for customers.
AITO has access to growth outside the EU where import duties exist for China-built electric cars. This spread gives the brand more market options beyond the current restrictions.
