SEGA and RGG Studio Release New Trailer for Stranger Than Heaven Act 1

SEGA and RGG Studio have begun releasing new story trailers for the upcoming game Stranger Than Heaven. The first trailer focuses on Act 1 in the city of Kokura, Fukuoka in 1915. The game will feature five different cities, each representing a different era in Japanese history. The trailers will cover each city in order, ending with Kamurocho, the birthplace of the Yakuza franchise.

Makoto’s journey to Japan

Makoto Daito is a Japanese‑American boy who seeks a better life. He stows away on a trading merchant ship named Orpheus bound for Japan and arrives in Kokura. Makoto is a budding musician who collects sounds from his surroundings to compose music. He is joined by other characters such as Yu Shinjo and learns underworld skills from the ship’s captain.

Stranger Than Heaven will launch on January 15 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass and PC via Steam. The game has already attracted strong interest and will include merchandise tied to a collaboration with the 1973 film Battles Without Honor and Humanity.
