Saros Zenith Update Adds Boss Rush, New Game+, Accessibility

Housemarque’s free Zenith update for the bullet‑hell shooter Saros is now available to all owners, adding a host of new content and quality‑of‑life improvements. The patch introduces a boss rush mode, a New Game+ experience called Eclipse Layers, 20 new gameplay modifiers, and a suite of accessibility options that make the game easier to play without changing its core design.

Boss Rush and Leaderboards

Overlord Rush lets players face the game’s toughest bosses back‑to‑back in three different sets – Incursion, Ascension, and the full Totality gauntlet. The mode is accessed through the Primary Unit in Passage and features online leaderboards that can be filtered by weapon type, giving players a competitive arena to compare their completion times worldwide.

Eclipse Layers is the new take on New Game+; after finishing the main campaign, players unlock additional layers through the Armor Matrix in Passage. Each layer requires a specific combination of Carcosan Modifiers, and the more Trial Modifiers players choose, the more elaborate a golden Crown grows on Arjun, unlocking new Visions that add lore to the world of Carcosa.

The update expands the Carcosan Modifier system with ten new Protection Modifiers that make the game easier and ten new Trial Modifiers that raise difficulty. New accessibility options include Slow Game Speed, which lets players reduce the action pace; Auto‑fire, which automatically fires weapons while aiming; Motion‑sensor aiming; and high‑contrast visual settings, a new setting reported by TheSixthAxis.

Alongside the new content, Housemarque added six new trophies, updated Photo Mode options such as facial expression and weapon visuals, and made balance changes to artifact drops, modifier costs, and damage values.
