Makura has released the visual novel Sakura no Uta – To Dance Over the Cherry Blossoms – on Steam for the first time on December 17, 2026. The game is published by Shiravune and written by SCA‑DI, who also created Wonderful Everyday: Down the Rabbit‑Hole. It focuses on art, relationships, loss and what happiness means in the life of the protagonist, Naoya Kusanagi.

Story overview

Naoya’s father, a well‑known painter, has recently died, and Naoya moves in with the family of his best friend Kei. As he settles into his new home he grows closer to his homeroom teacher Ai and to Kei’s younger sister Shizuku Natsume, an aspiring actress, while his childhood friend Rin Misakura returns after studying elsewhere. The narrative weaves these relationships together, exploring how art can help people cope with grief and find new meaning.

The Steam release features full‑HD artwork, updated with new colouring by Inukila, Kagome and Motoyon. All characters, except the silent protagonist, receive full Japanese voice acting. Players can expect more than 20 hours of story, and a free demo is already available for early testers.
