Provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act are scheduled to introduce substantial tax incentives next year for developers establishing data centers in rural regions. The policy aims to draw computing infrastructure to less populated areas by lowering the tax burden on those projects.

It remains uncertain why these firms are hesitating to take advantage of the funding, as well as what specific hurdles might be deterring them from expanding into countryside locations.
