Rosarium Health, a company that helps older adults stay home, announced on Thursday it will partner with Anthem Medi‑Cal. The deal will let Rosarium give in‑home safety checks to members at risk of falling. Occupational and physical therapists will assess the person and the home. Based on the results, Rosarium can suggest upgrades such as ramps or stair lifts.

How the partnership works

California’s Medi‑Cal program pays for certain home modifications, usually up to a $7,500 lifetime limit. Through the new deal, Rosarium will also handle paperwork and get approval from Anthem. When a project is finished, the company will review it for quality and pay the contractor. The service covers Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Fresno and Kern.

Rosarium will track emergency visits, hospital stays and member satisfaction to see if the program helps. The goal is to make home modification benefits as easy to get as dental or vision care. Founder Cameron Carter said the project is vital as California has more people over 65 than under 18. The partnership could help many older Californians stay safe at home.
