Grand Theft Auto 6 will cover a world roughly three times the playable map of Red Dead Redemption 2, according to Rockstar. The studio is focusing on the detail inside each room, with actors’ positions, drinks, and table marks noted by co‑head Aaron Garbut.
Hundreds of Interiors
While a precise number hasn’t been released, publishing head Jennifer Kolbe and other developers said there are “hundreds” of interiors to explore, giving the game a depth of small spaces that can be hidden from detection during missions.
The narrative has been compared to Red Dead Redemption 2, with the focus on two characters who enjoy spending time together. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the first hour feels less “sour nihilism” than in GTA 5, and interactions with characters Lucia and Jason could steer the story’s direction.
GTA 6 is expected to launch in about a month on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, so players will soon discover how these interiors and story choices play out.
