Rockstar Games released the official 90-second launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 on October 15, confirming the game will arrive on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The footage introduces protagonists Jason and Lucia navigating a criminal conspiracy across the state of Leonida and Vice City after an easy score goes wrong. Rockstar noted that the preview was captured entirely on a PlayStation 5 console.

Original score by Justice

French electronic music duo Justice composed the game's original score. The launch trailer premiered their new single, "Flower in a Hurricane," which features vocals from SZA, Tame Impala, and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Push Square noted that Rockstar also shared custom character artwork depicting the musicians in the studio's signature illustrated style.

The new single appears on the official soundtrack release, Grand Theft Auto 6: The Album. According to GamingBolt, the record includes 34 original tracks from artists such as Travis Scott, Cardi B, Keith Richards, Yung Lean, and Morgan Wallen. The outlet also noted that Scott's featured track, "RHYNO," was produced by former Daft Punk member Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo.

The trailer also revived a long-running franchise tradition. As Kotaku highlighted, the video ends with the familiar deep-voiced narrator reciting the title, its mature rating, and the release date. Rockstar has used this closing voiceover across its major launch trailers dating back to Grand Theft Auto 3, including previous promotional videos for Grand Theft Auto 5 and both Red Dead Redemption titles.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is Rockstar's first major single-player release since Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in 2018. Studio leaders Phil Hooker and Aaron Garbut told Bloomberg that the internal engine, production tools, and development teams built for this project will carry directly into future productions, aiming to avoid another eight-year gap between major releases.
