The Pokemon Company and TiMi Studio Group have announced that the free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game Pokemon UNITE will end service on Tuesday, March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. The closure affects both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions, which launched in July 2021 and September 2021. The companies thanked players, promised a special event before the final day, and said the Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competitive tournament will still go ahead.
Membership and gem changes
From 05:00 UTC on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, Aeos gem sales are suspended, and new UNITE Club memberships and automatic renewals are halted. Existing members can keep using their benefits until their current membership period ends. Players who already own Aeos gems can use them until service ends.
An update on Thursday, November 12, 2026, will add a special event and a library feature. During the event, players can obtain items such as Unite licenses and Holowear. The library feature lets players download data to view certain records and in-game content after service ends. Players must finish the download before service ends on March 23, 2027, or lose access to the library. Qualifier tournaments for the Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo competition start on Saturday, December 5, 2026.
After service ends, players can no longer log in or take part in battles. Those who finished the library download can still use the library, but its data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices, and support for the library will end. Players may contact Support about any issues before 00:00 UTC on March 23, 2027.
