Phillip Island has secured a five‑year deal to stage a Repco Supercars round from 2027, marking the first return since 2019 and guaranteeing at least five seasons at the circuit. The event will be a Finals round toward the end of the campaign, giving the track a prominent spot in the championship’s closing stages.
Facilities unchanged
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation confirmed that the existing pit lane and garage facilities are fit for the current generation of Supercars and that no major upgrades are required before the inaugural 2027 race. Supercars executive chairman Barclay Nettlefold and former champion Garth Tander welcomed the decision, noting the circuit’s fast, flowing layout and suitable braking zones for close racing.
With MotoGP moving its Australian Grand Prix to a new street circuit in Adelaide from 2027, Supercars will replace the motorcycle series at Phillip Island. Victorian Minister for Major Events Anthony Carbines said the return would bring crowds and customers for local businesses, while Supercars is part of a broader strategy to keep major racing events in Victoria and expand the championship’s calendar.
