Peugeot Unveils RCZ Vision Electric Sports Coupe
French automaker presents concept with solid-state battery technology.
12 Oct 2026
Peugeot has presented a concept car called the RCZ Vision. This model serves as a futuristic successor to the original RCZ coupe produced from 2009 to 2015. It acts as a design and technology manifesto for future high-performance electric mobility.
The concept introduces Peugeot’s new Feline Future design language built around five principles. These ideas include freedom, courage, elegance, inner force and instinct. Together they aim to create a car that looks powerful without appearing unnecessarily aggressive.
Exterior proportions combine a low wide stance with muscular bodywork. An illuminated emblem and intricate air intakes give the concept a dramatic appearance at the front. The rear features integrated lighting and an active spoiler that remains hidden when the car is stationary.
Peugeot targets 500 horsepower for the electric powertrain in this concept. The company cites a driving range of up to 600 km equivalent to approximately 373 miles. Energy consumption on the WLTP combined cycle is marked as subject to confirmation at 11.5 kWh per 100 km.
A key highlight is the solid-state battery developed in collaboration with Factorial Energy. Solid-state batteries offer potential advantages such as higher energy density and reduced packaging requirements. The RCZ Vision pairs this battery with a 1,000-volt electrical architecture for fast charging.
Peugeot targets a charging time of just 10 minutes to increase the state of charge from 10% to 80%. These figures describe intended capabilities rather than verified performance from a production vehicle. This specific target is also highlighted in reporting that notes the quick charge capability.

The RCZ Vision showcases next-generation driving technology including Hypersquare steering control. This replaces the conventional round steering wheel with a distinctive rectangular shape featuring four circular openings. Electronic steer-by-wire systems manage inputs without a traditional mechanical connection to the front wheels.
Inside the cabin Peugeot previews a new generation of i-Cockpit technology combining transparent displays. A transparent display positioned above the steering control presents essential information within the driver’s field of vision. Physical controls remain part of the experience on a frosted-glass surface with machined-aluminium finishes.
Materials used include Alcantara combined with recycled leather and other carefully selected finishes. One notable innovation is PELINOVA leather made from recycled offcuts from the leather-goods industry. The cabin also includes a clock developed with French watchmaker SERICA integrated into the center display support.
Although styled as a sports coupe the interior is designed to deliver a comfortable grand touring experience. The concept features four seats with space for two adults in the rear folding seatbacks. Front seats combine pronounced support with a lightweight design while open sections help reduce material use.
The RCZ Vision previews Level 2++ automated-driving capabilities including a hands-free function on demand. Peugeot says the production version of Hypersquare will also feature in the next-generation Peugeot E-208. This indicates that at least part of the technology is intended to extend beyond the concept itself.
The RCZ Vision should be viewed as a preview of design and engineering direction not a confirmed production model. It does not confirm a launch date or final specifications at this time for road-going vehicles. For fans of the original RCZ it raises an exciting possibility of a distinctive coupe identity in an electric era.
