Solvera, an Oslo‑based start‑up founded in July 2026 by Arif Mirza, Pål Rasmussen and Thorvald Thorsnes, announced a €5.62 million ($6.3 million) pre‑seed round on 15 October 2026. The round was led by Seedcamp and included Construct Venture, Inception Fund, Momentum, Obos Ventures, PSV Tech, Sondo, The Nordic Web Ventures and angel investors Anders Kvåle and Håvard Haukeland of Spacemaker. The company said the investment will help expand its engineering and technology teams in Oslo and open a London office.
Funding round
Solvera’s business model is to act as a full‑service engineering firm that uses an AI‑powered operating system to automate large portions of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design work. Rather than selling software licences or charging for consulting hours, the company offers end‑to‑end engineering services, taking projects from initial requirements to coordinated, construction‑ready designs. AI agents handle routine tasks such as testing alternatives, coordination and production work, while human engineers retain judgement for key decisions. The system is designed to improve with each project, capturing knowledge and making it reusable across future work.
It has partnered with Betonmast, one of Norway’s leading contractors, on commercial projects, and has a growing team of nine engineers. Solvera’s focus on MEP engineering is driven by the field’s complexity—hundreds of requirements, legacy tools, sizing and routing systems, and continual design adjustments. Much of this work remains manual and fragmented, which the AI system seeks to streamline.
Future plans for Solvera include expanding its engineering and technology teams in Oslo, establishing a London office, and accelerating development of its operating system. The company also intends to enter additional markets as its business model evolves, aiming to broaden its reach beyond Norway’s construction sector.
