Nintendo Expands Switch Online Classics with Three New Game Boy Advance Titles

Nintendo has updated its Switch Online library with three additional Game Boy Advance titles for October 2026. The additions appear in the Game Boy Advance – Nintendo Classics app on both Switch and Switch 2 consoles. All three reports confirm the update includes Metal Slug Advance, Monster Rancher Advance, and Kururin Paradise.

The action title Metal Slug Advance was originally released in 2004 with new playable characters Walter Ryan and Tyra Elson. Unlike arcade entries, this version features a life gauge and cards that provide gameplay bonuses.

Monster Rancher Advance puts players in the role of a monster trainer managing schedules and entering tournaments. It was originally released in 2001 as a life-sim spin-off by Tecmo. While some reports name it Monster Rancher Advance, one outlet refers to it simply as Monster Rancher without the subtitle.

Kururin Paradise is a puzzle-action game developed by Eighting for the Japanese market in 2002. Players control Kururin as he pilots a constantly rotating aircraft through narrow mazes. This title was never released previously in North America or Europe before this update allows access to it.

Accessing these games requires a membership in the Expansion Pack tier of Nintendo Switch Online. This premium subscription applies to both the standard Switch and the new Switch 2 console systems. Without this specific tier, users cannot play the added Game Boy Advance titles.

Other Game Boy Advance titles were added to the Nintendo Classics service earlier in 2026 as well. Mario vs. Donkey Kong arrived in March and Dr. Mario & Puzzle League followed in July. Last month, the company also updated its NES and Famicom libraries according to reports.
