Sega released a new video for Crazy Taxi: World Tour that focuses on Brazil. The footage shows the vibrant streets and coastlines players will see next year. It marks a change from the San Francisco setting shown before.
Producer Kenji Kanno said the team looked at both old city life and modern buildings for design choices. They also used images of beaches and natural scenery to create the atmosphere. Players are meant to feel part of this busy environment while they drive.
The main story follows a driver named Axel who loses his taxi to thieves in masks. He must chase them across five different cities to get it back. The story guides players through these locations during missions and side activities.
Brazil is the fourth location revealed for this new entry into the series. Five maps make up the full World Tour experience according to the developers. Other settings include Japan, Germany, and a West Coast based on San Francisco.
Gameplay keeps elements from the original games like high speed delivery of passengers. Players must earn money against the clock while performing jumps or drifting moves. Custom vehicles are available for use during these challenges.
Beyond the story mode there is an Arcade Mode for timed runs. Some reports also mention competitive modes where players race as cabbies together online. Cross-play features will allow friends on different consoles to join games.

Certain real businesses appear in the game world based on actual stores in the country. Brands like Habib’s and Fast Shop are visible inside the Brazil section. These locations help ground the virtual tour in recognizable places.
The game is scheduled for launch in 2027 across multiple systems. It will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through digital stores. Support for the Nintendo Switch 2 version was also confirmed by the team.
One report calls the title a free-to-play experience while others list store platforms. The sources contradict each other on how players will pay for the game.
Fans have previously discussed issues regarding the use of generative AI in the production. This topic drew criticism during earlier discussions about the project by Sega. The development team has faced this feedback while working on the new title.
Multiplayer options allow users to compete against others outside the main campaign. Modes like Pickup Race and Cops N’ Cabbies are among those being tested for online play. These features aim to extend the fun beyond single-player missions.
Some fans suggest places like Australia or London could round out the global tour. Sega has not officially confirmed future location plans yet. Speculation exists about which regions might appear as the fifth map in the game.
