At New York Comic Con in 2026, the audience heard news about the next step for Naruto fans. A message from series creator Masashi Kishimoto appeared on screen as the show finished. This moment marked the start of a broader update for the franchise.

The updates fall under Project Rasengan, a plan covering work across several years. Future manga volumes, television shows, and interactive games will be part of this effort. The project aims to keep the world active well into the coming decade.

One highlight involves an anime series joining Naruto with another title called Ninku. The plot follows Team Seven on a mission where Naruto leads because Kakashi cannot go. They become lost and face Fūsuke, a young boy who resembles a frog in this new place.

Creator Koji Kiriyama stated that mixing these two worlds felt like a miracle to him. He credited Masashi Kishimoto with proposing the idea and trusting the Ninku setting deeply. This partnership shows how much respect the writers hold for each other's work.

Kishimoto explained that his own series grew out of love for the earlier story about Fūsuke. He views the character as a secret mentor who shaped the main hero long before events started. Now they can finally share a story that brings that hidden bond into view.

Physical cards for players are set to launch globally starting in June 2027. Bandai will handle the distribution of this competitive game around the world. It adds a way for fans to use their knowledge on the battlefield.

A mobile action game made only for China is also moving to international markets soon. This release allows players outside Japan to join the digital combat experience now. It brings previously exclusive content to a wider group of users.

A live-action movie is being produced under director Destin Daniel Cretton. He believes Naruto stands out because he keeps trying despite facing failure and doubt. The team wants to show the character's heart while respecting the source material.

The voice actor for Fūsuke shared feelings about returning after thirty years of silence. He feels happy to see the cast back together in energetic roles once again. This project carries messages relevant to fans both young and old today.

Fans can expect further news during Jump Festa late this year. Updates on Project Rasengan will happen at the event from December 19 to 20 in 2026. These gatherings serve as checkpoints for the long-term plans ahead.
