Mueon Corp. announced a $65 million Series A, led by Maverick Silicon and joined by Intel’s Oregon Venture Fund, Wellington Capital, IQT and other investors. The company was founded last year by former Intel engineers Wilfred Gomes and Jack Hwang, who brought experience in die‑stacking and silicon etching to the effort. Mueon is developing a three‑dimensional server architecture called Cubelet that stacks computing, memory, interconnect, power delivery and cooling components on top of one another, promising up to ten times more power and cost efficiency than traditional two‑dimensional layouts.

The Cubelet design shrinks the distance data travels between chips, reducing power consumption and boosting compute speed. Thermal management is a key challenge, but Mueon claims it has engineered a solution that keeps processors and memory modules at compatible temperatures in a stacked stack. The modules will support a range of chips, including GPUs and Arm CPUs, and are targeted at artificial‑intelligence and hyperscale workloads. Funds will be used to hire engineers, refine the hardware and develop software that lets customers run popular AI frameworks on the new architecture.
