Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Offers New Crafting and Extraction Features for Players

Call of Duty updates its launch strategy with a new extraction mode for Xbox and PC.

Modern Warfare 4 includes a new mode called DMZ set on the Hajin map in Korea. It continues the story after the main campaign ends.

Players who pre-order get early access to the campaign on Friday, October 16. The DMZ mode opens for them a few days later on Tuesday.

Another report suggests the game launches fully on October 23 instead. This creates a small difference in when players can start the experience.

Players play this title on Xbox Series X|S or PC only. It does not appear on the older Xbox One console this year.

The game will not be included with a standard Game Pass subscription at launch. This choice focuses on individual sales rather than bundle access for subscribers.

A machine called the 3D Printer builds upgrades at the Forward Operating Base. Players collect resources like metals and chemicals to make new equipment there.

Operators can gain traits that change their skills in combat. Users spend earned points to choose between survival boosts or combat resistance styles.

There is a high risk if an Operator fails during a mission. Bringing them back costs cash, and the price rises if they have invested many traits.

Gear found on the map moves to a shared stash for all active Operators. This allows one player to search while another uses the items later.

The final goal is to escape before the threat catches up during extraction. Every item carried into the base depends on surviving this last stage of play.

A special Vault Edition includes extra weapon skins and operator appearances immediately. Some parts are exclusive to specific console hardware platforms for visual effects.

Success relies on knowing where to find materials and when to leave the map. Players must weigh the danger against the value of what they have looted.
