Missing Game Reminder Forces Chapter Restart

The author keeps a Google Calendar for work and life. In the game Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, events happen on a calendar too. But the game does not give pop‑up reminders. Because of that, the author’s time blindness makes it hard to remember deadlines.

Calendar and Notification System

In the game, the calendar shows important dates. The notification system is a separate feature. Adding an event to the calendar is like writing a note and putting it away. The game never shows a pop‑up when the date arrives. So the author did not know the event was ready.

Paralogues are optional side quests that give extra story. They can only be played during a short window of days. If a player is busy exploring the world map, the time to return to the hub world can be missed. Missing a paralogue is easy because the window is tight.

The author tried Leda’s paralogue. The game added it to the calendar and promised a reward. While out on the world map, a notification said the deadline had passed. The paralogue was lost, and the only way to get it was to restart the chapter. Restarting erased all progress.

The restart left the author frustrated and unwilling to play the game. The experience shows that a mismatch between a player’s calendar habits and a game’s reminder system can ruin a playthrough. It also shows that missing a timed event can have a big cost. The lesson is that game designers should give clear, timely reminders for important events.
