Max Verstappen, the Formula One champion, is adding a sports‑car race to his schedule, heading the #3 Mercedes‑AMG GT3 in the season‑finale endurance cup at Portimao.

Three‑hour endurance race

The three‑hour endurance cup takes place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. It starts at 17:00 local time (18:00 CEST) and is expected to finish around 20:00 local, when the lights go out. A live stream of every lap is available on the event’s website.

On the grid, the #2 Boutsen VDS Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R of Morris Schuring, Dorian Boccolacci and Alessio Picariello takes pole. The #17 Team GetSpeed Mercedes‑AMG GT3 is second, just over a tenth of a second behind, and the #80 Lionspeed Porsche 911 GT3 R starts third. Verstappen’s #3 Mercedes‑AMG GT3 is 15th after traffic slowed its qualifying.

The Endurance Cup title was already secured at Nürburgring, and the overall GT World Challenge Europe championship was decided after a disqualification from Misano was overturned on appeal, ending Lionspeed’s final chance for the drivers’ title.
