Hangar 13 and publisher 2K have released a new version of Mafia III for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This release is available on both platforms starting this week in October 2026.

Players can expect smoother action with gameplay running at 60 frames per second. This applies to most of the title during active play sessions.

Some parts of the story are pre-rendered movies that stay at 30 frames per second. These do not match the speed of the rest of the game when they appear.

Owners of the earlier PS4 or Xbox One versions can download this update for free. It is also available to anyone who bought the Omertà Collection recently.

New buyers find the game on sale with a large discount on the digital store pages. Prices start near six US dollars in certain regions during this promotion.

PC players see changes as well with options for much higher frame rates up to 240 frames per second. The update removes window borders that some users found annoying.

Several missions previously caused game locks where progress would stop completely. The developers fixed these dead ends so the story flows properly now.

Visual glitches involving lighting and textures were corrected to improve how objects look on screen. These changes help reduce strange artifacts that appeared during driving or combat.

Achievement tracking has been updated to record unlocks accurately across all platforms. UI elements like waypoints and subtitles also receive clarity improvements in this patch.

Specific DLC content for the Stones Unturned expansion now functions correctly after being reported as broken earlier. Vehicle behavior was adjusted so unintended collisions do not block missions.

The game is part of the larger Mafia: The Omertà Collection available on current systems. Some reports note it belongs to a trilogy package as well without clear distinction.

Separately, rating boards for the US have submitted listings for a second Mafia title recently. However one report notes that release is not fully ready for players yet.
