Legacy Games is ending operations for its online store. The company previously promised customers their games were theirs to keep forever. That slogan now comes with a strict condition regarding download timing.
Reports provide conflicting dates for when the storefront fully closes. One account says disc codes stop working on December 31 while everything goes offline by February 28. The other states the store itself will close on December 31 instead. Both confirm that re-downloading games will end after the later deadline in early 2027.
Installing purchased titles before the final date is required to maintain access. The company says games stay yours if they remain installed on a single device. Users who uninstall or upgrade computers will lose the ability to re-download them. Points and rewards also expire at the end of the year.
This shutdown applies to Amazon Prime Gaming titles claimed through the service. Some users criticized the move as poor business practice on social media. Digital libraries usually feel permanent, but this case shows access can expire without warning.
