Leapmotor has introduced the all-new B03, an electric supermini designed for everyday use. It builds on the Compact Electric Platform, following the earlier B03X crossover model. The vehicle uses a Cell-to-Chassis architecture that integrates the battery into the structure to improve space efficiency.

A front-mounted motor delivers 194 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque to the wheels. Leapmotor claims the battery will provide up to 242 miles on a single charge according to WLTP tests. The car reaches 62 mph in 7.6 seconds with a maximum speed of 101 mph.

Charging speeds are a key focus for the new model, which supports DC rapid power up to 133 kW. Under stated conditions, the battery goes from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes. Owners can also use vehicle-to-load technology to power external equipment via a 230-volt output.

The B03 measures 4,175 mm long with short overhangs for better handling in tight spaces. Its turning circle is just 9.8 metres, making it easier to drive on narrow streets. Exterior styling includes a two-tone roof and slim LED headlights for a distinct look.

Inside, the cabin features dual digital displays running Leapmotor’s LEAP OS 4.0 Plus software. Soft-touch materials and certified elements are used throughout to improve comfort levels. Cargo space starts at 405 litres but can expand to 1,305 litres when rear seats fold flat.

Standard equipment includes 21 driver assistance systems that support Level 2 semi-autonomous functions. These features use 14 sensors and cameras to monitor the vehicle surroundings during travel. Leapmotor Integrated Motion Control helps maintain stability if grip is lost on the road surface.

For the United Kingdom, the manufacturer plans to sell the B03 with a single trim level containing many standard features. This approach aims to simplify the buying process for customers in the local market. Final success will depend on pricing and real-world performance compared to rivals.
