Land Rover is recalling 93,997 Range Rovers from the 2022 to 2026 model years because water can collect around the rearview camera and damage it.
Why the camera matters
The tailgate trim does not have enough drain holes, so water cannot drain away from the camera. If the camera is damaged, the backup image may not show on the screen. A blank screen in reverse cuts the driver's view behind the vehicle and raises the risk of a crash, NHTSA says.
Dealers will drill extra drain holes under the tailgate trim, inspect the camera and replace it if it's damaged. Repairs are free. Land Rover will mail interim letters warning owners about the problem starting Dec. 11, 2026, then a second letter once the final remedy is ready. Owners can call Land Rover customer service at 800-637-6837 or check their VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. The NHTSA campaign number is 26V678000.
It is the second Range Rover recall this month. Earlier in October, Land Rover recalled the Range Rover Sport SV over possible rear subframe cracks.
