Hyundai has launched a new Monochrome edition of its Elantra N performance sedan. The special trim focuses on a subdued color palette and refined details. The car will first appear in South Korea, Canada and Australia.
Styling Focuses on Subdued Detail
The exterior is stripped of the bright red accents that usually mark N models. Instead, the car comes with black forged wheels, black or body‑colored trim on the bumpers and sides, monochrome brake calipers and a new rear diffuser treatment. Two paint options are available: an all‑black Abyss Black Pearl and a Performance Blue shade that keeps the traditional blue hue.
Inside, the Monochrome keeps a sporty feel while keeping the look restrained. Alcantara upholstery is used on seats, door panels and the steering wheel, and the wheel has black buttons. Light blue stitching runs across the cabin for a subtle contrast.
Hyundai said the Monochrome will launch in Korea in late October, then in Canada and Australia. The automaker also said it intends to bring the trim to other global markets in the future, but it has not yet committed to a U.S. release.
Hyundai did not announce any powertrain changes for the Monochrome.
