Developer House House has confirmed that its cooperative puzzle game Big Walk will not be released on Xbox Series X and Series S. The studio explained that the choice is tied to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Microsoft, which protests the technology company's alleged ties to Israeli military surveillance of Palestinians.

Big Walk launched in August 2026 on PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC through Steam. Pure Xbox notes that Metacritic rates the project as the fourth best game of the year, leading many players to ask whether an Xbox version would follow. House House addressed those questions directly in a statement posted to its social media channels and its official website.

Boycott targets and player impact

The studio acknowledged that skipping the platform keeps some groups of friends from playing together. However, House House stated that it would not bring the game to Xbox until Microsoft or the console brand is removed as a BDS boycott target. The developer added that it believes coordinated collective action can challenge powerful interests and lead to meaningful change.

The BDS boycott against Microsoft has drawn wider support across the gaming industry under the banner No Games for Genocide, according to Kotaku. Kotaku also noted past developments tied to the campaign, including Microsoft cutting off the Israeli government's access to cloud storage and artificial intelligence tools last year and severing ties with staff in Israel in May 2026.

Some observers suggested that House House should also remove its 2019 hit Untitled Goose Game from Xbox. Pure Xbox pointed out that the earlier title arrived more than five years before Microsoft was named a priority BDS target, and noted that House House does not publish its own games. While a native Xbox edition is ruled out, PC players can still run Big Walk on handheld devices such as the ROG Xbox Ally via Steam.
