HealthTap, a virtual primary‑care company based in Sunnyvale, California, launched a program on Monday that links sleep‑ and respiratory‑durable‑medical‑equipment (DME) suppliers with physicians who can evaluate patients, document findings and issue treatment orders. The service covers positive‑airway‑pressure (PAP) therapy from the initial evaluation all the way through compliance, resupply and device replacement, allowing suppliers to meet the paperwork needed before insurers or the suppliers themselves can deliver therapy.

After a patient books, completes, cancels or reschedules a virtual visit, HealthTap automatically sends updates to the supplier. When the appointment ends, the provider’s chart notes and any prescriptions are transmitted immediately to the supplier, so the team no longer has to chase paperwork. The integrated workflow gives suppliers real‑time access to visit records and signed orders, helping them keep patients on therapy and avoid administrative bottlenecks.

Under Medicare, continued coverage for PAP devices requires a treating practitioner to reevaluate the patient between 31 and 91 days after therapy starts and to document the device’s benefits and the patient’s adherence. By providing timely follow‑up evaluations and prescriptions, HealthTap’s program ensures that patients receive the necessary care and that suppliers have the required documentation to maintain coverage and reimbursement.
