Slow Bros announced that its handcrafted adventure Harold Halibut will debut on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026, following its spring 2024 launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement was made during IGN FanFest, and the game will expand its reach to Nintendo’s handheld platform.

The story follows Harold, a maintenance worker aboard a massive spaceship submerged beneath an alien ocean. He spends his days keeping the vessel operational while forming friendships with its inhabitants, and the narrative explores what “home” means to those aboard.

Harold Halibut’s stop‑motion look comes from physical sets and puppets built by Slow Bros since 2013. The studio constructed the game’s environments and characters by hand, then scanned them into 3D, using traditional sculpting and model‑making techniques.

The presentation pairs those handmade environments with fully voiced dialogue and motion‑captured animation, giving the game a distinctive visual style that feels tangible and immersive.

More than 40 characters populate the submerged ship, each with unique personalities. Players encounter them through conversation, exploration, and character relationships, adding depth to the game’s themes of friendship and belonging.

A typical playthrough takes about 12 hours, while completing every side quest can extend the game to 18 hours, encouraging players to explore each area fully.

Harold Halibut is already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and the Switch 2 release will bring the title to Nintendo’s new console.
