Google has released Gemini 4 Argon globally to paying users today. The model is live in the Gemini app, Search, and through the API. Free users were moved to smaller models recently.
Consumer plans start at $19.99 or $20 per month. Developer pricing includes a launch discount that ends November 30. Google has declined to clarify if the model will reach other subscription tiers for coding tools.
Google describes the model as a powerhouse for deep work in coding and finance. It ranks first on the Vals Index for specific tasks. The system also improves at solving spatial problems in 3D environments.

Cyber defenders test the model without guardrails through the Fairwind Program. External red teaming showed under 1% of sub-tasks were unlocked during bio safety checks. Prompt injection attacks succeeded less than 0.7% of the time.
Internal tools like Antigravity show significant gains for developers. Agentic code submissions rose more than 35% while rollbacks fell by nearly a third. Full access to Antigravity requires an Ultra subscription tier.
This launch follows months of delays and a leadership shakeup at Google DeepMind. The company aims to regain ground against rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic. European regulators monitor such models for systemic risks like cyber offence.
