FromSoftware has announced that its Switch 2 exclusive multiplayer action game, The Duskbloods, will no longer arrive in 2026. It will now launch in 2027. The studio said the decision followed a network test in August 2026, when it saw active interest in the game’s core concepts, including combat, strategic depth and player expression. It also said final adjustments to game rules and balancing needed more time, and it apologized to fans who have been waiting. The Duskbloods is the studio’s latest online multiplayer experiment, in which eight players compete for supremacy in a world of challenging NPC enemies.

Reasons for postponement

The game is still at the final adjustment stage. FromSoftware said the extra time will let it further enhance those core aspects and refine the rules and balancing. The studio thanked fans for their patience and support and said it will announce a release date when it is ready.

The Duskbloods will be exclusive to Switch 2 and lets eight players battle for First Blood and the title of Bloodsworn. Its setting explores vampiric myths against a gothic Britain backdrop, which should appeal to Bloodborne fans. It is an original property rather than a Castlevania tie-in. The studio has not yet revealed a specific launch date beyond the 2027 window.
