Ferrari has announced that 22‑year‑old Dino Beganovic will leave Formula 2 at the end of this season to join Antonio Giovinazzi on the team’s reserve roster for 2027, taking on development duties and standing ready to step into the SF‑27 if required.
Beganovic has spent seven years in Ferrari’s Driver Academy, progressing from a third‑place finish in Italian F4 in 2020 to winning the Formula Regional European Championship in 2022. He finished sixth in Formula 3 in both 2023 and 2024, then moved to Formula 2 where he finished seventh in 2025 and fifth in 2026, winning races at Madring and Baku and adding a third victory that season.
The promotion comes after fellow academy driver Rafael Camara secured a full‑time seat with Haas for 2027. Beganovic’s reserve role will involve heavy simulator work, supporting race‑weekend development, and standing ready to step into the SF‑27 if either of Ferrari’s primary drivers are unavailable. Ferrari will also continue its junior presence through Tuukka Taponen in Formula 3 next year.
