During a one‑hour demo held at Marvelous’ Shinagawa headquarters for the Tokyo Game Show 2026, players tested the early chapters of the turn‑based RPG Eternal Anima. The showcase let participants explore the continent of Ambulis, starting in the forest village of La Boset and moving toward a boss in Chapter 3. The environment is deliberately linear, with paths marked by trees and environmental objects, and enemies appear directly on the map instead of through random encounters. Optional areas such as the Vanishing Cave offered puzzle‑like challenges, and the demo highlighted the ship, a cauldron for crafting, and a blacksmith that produces weapons, armor and M.O.S. components.
Combat Mechanics
Combat uses a timeline that shows the order of turns, and Wade’s Psychometry lets the player preview enemy actions. Each ability has a speed value that places it on the line, allowing the player to manipulate the flow of battle and exploit weaknesses to delay or break enemies. Boost Points are earned by guarding or defeating foes and can be used for powerful moves like Neria’s Boost Surge. In addition, the game features a class‑inheritance system that lets Wade absorb abilities from past heroes, and a new Bowhunter class was demonstrated in the demo.
The narrative follows Wade, a heretic from the floating kingdom of Urvis Ael, who travels through the past and present of lost continents while uncovering forgotten history. He is joined by Neria, a sassy leader, the robotic sentinel M.O.S., and the timid magic user Martii, whose village fights for survival. The game will launch on March 4, 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
