Elden Ring released patch 1.17.2 to address a range of bugs without adding new content, making the update available for PlayStation, Xbox and Steam players. The patch includes fixes for a visual glitch involving the Gold Tattoo Chest armor when the Hide Helmet option is enabled. The update also corrects text in the credits and does not introduce any new features.

Visual glitch

The patch focuses on fixing specific gameplay bugs. It resolves an issue where the left‑hand graphics would not display correctly when using the Repeating Crossbow Skill while holding Leontiel’s Greatsword in the right hand. It also stops a bug that could cause status buildup when firing Piquebone Arrows or Fletched Piquebone Arrows in certain ways.

The update adds enhanced network security for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game. Supported platforms remain PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Steam. The patch was released on 20 October 2026.

Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, first launched on 25 February 2022. The 1.17.2 update follows the game's pattern of releasing small patches to fix bugs rather than adding new content. Players on all major platforms can download the update through their respective stores, and the patch is available immediately after release.
