Eko Health has launched its CORE 300 stethoscope, the first device to combine traditional acoustic listening with a digital listening mode. The product received FDA 510(k) clearance on July 23, 2026 and became available in the United States on October 22. The device is designed for both adult and pediatric patients and can be used in busy clinical settings such as emergency departments and rural skilled nursing facilities.

Hardware and usability

The CORE 300 features a proprietary twistable chestpiece that lets clinicians switch between a passive acoustic mode and an active digital mode simply by turning the chestpiece. In digital mode the stethoscope amplifies sound up to 35 times and uses active noise cancellation to reduce background noise. The chestpiece also contains a small monochrome display that shows the real‑time heart rate while the clinician listens.

When used with the Eko App, the device records heart and lung sounds and applies AI algorithms to flag potential structural heart murmurs. The software can prompt clinicians to pursue further testing, such as an echocardiogram, especially in settings where cardiology services are limited. Access to the AI analysis requires an annual Eko+ subscription priced at $119.99 after a free 14‑day trial.

The hardware costs $199 and runs on a rechargeable battery that can deliver up to 120 hours of continuous use, with a USB‑C charging port and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. The device also weighs 5.3 oz and includes interchangeable diaphragms for adult and pediatric use. Eko plans to roll the CORE 300 out internationally to Canada, the UK, and selected EU markets, with additional regulatory filings underway in Asia‑Pacific and Latin America.

Eko Health has already delivered more than 750,000 devices worldwide and is building on an existing portfolio that includes the CORE 500 and the FDA‑cleared Low Ejection Fraction Tool. CEO Connor Landgraf says the company aims to bring the ubiquitous physical exam into the digital era, combining precise listening with objective measurements and AI‑powered decision support.
