Diablo Cody has said a sequel to Jennifer’s Body is imminent. She told the Petticoat Revolution podcast that she is still writing the script, a project she began discussing in 2024 and confirmed in March 2026. The writer’s comments come after fans have long asked for a follow‑up.
Cody said Jennifer is a sympathetic character before and after her transformation. She described Jennifer as isolated, lonely and insecure, and praised Megan Fox for showing both the vulnerable and powerful sides of the role. The sequel will explore the loneliness and emotional pain behind the character.
Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried have said they would return if the film is greenlit. Director Karyn Kusama has also expressed openness to come back, though no director has been officially attached yet.
