David Bruckner, who directed The Night House and the 2022 Hellraiser reboot, is reported to be the new director of Paramount’s Smile 3, replacing franchise creator Parker Finn.
Finn is expected to remain a producer on Smile 3. He is currently working on a Paramount remake of the 1981 supernatural thriller Possession, which stars Callum Turner and Margaret Qualley and is slated to open on June 11, 2027.
The script for Smile 3 is set to be written by Nick Antosca, based on a story pitch by Finn. The third film will feature a new story and a new cast, though no casting has been announced yet.
