Citroën revealed the new 2CV Concept at the Paris Motor Show in October. The French brand is reviving one of its most famous models from the past for the current market. Reports confirm the event took place at the auto show where the concept was displayed to the public.

Production of the model is scheduled to begin in 2028, according to Citroën. The vehicle will be manufactured in Europe and will not be sold in the United States. Some reports note that the brand plans to unveil the final production version within the next two years.

The company has set a starting price of around €15,000 for the production model. Estimates for the US dollar value vary between 16,700 and 17,000 dollars depending on the exchange rate at the time of reporting. Citroën aims to keep costs low to maintain accessibility for buyers.

Design specifications describe a vehicle that is shorter than the original 2CV version. One report states the length is 3.76 meters, while others list it as 148 inches in total. The target weight is around 2,200 pounds in reports from two outlets, and about a tonne in the third.

The exterior features retro styling cues that reference the classic French car. Design elements include LED arch headlights and chrome bumpers that protrude from the bodywork. Small turn signal indicators are mounted on the C-pillar for visibility.

Inside, the cabin includes unique details like removable seats designed for picnics. A 3D-printed wicker-look basket sits in the center console to hold items like eggs or groceries. The radio is detachable and can function as a speaker when users are outside the car.

The dashboard contains a simple user interface with screens inspired by comic books. The main display is an eight-inch screen that shows cartoon graphics for speed and navigation. Lighting features in the ceiling are described variously as party lights or small lanterns across different reports.

Citroën CEO Xavier Chardon stated that reinventing the 2CV is not about replicating a car from the past. He said the goal is to bring simplicity, accessibility, and freedom into today's world through electric mobility. The brand also showed an associated van concept called the 2CV Fourgonnette.
